Prayer Is Our Heartbeat: Building a Fellowship That Seeks God First

Before KUFA develops another program, appoints another leader, enters another State, or launches another initiative, we must remain committed to prayer.

Kingdom Unity Fellowship Alliance believes that prayer is not simply one ministry among many—it is the lifeblood of every ministry.

Organizational excellence is important. Leadership development is necessary. Financial stewardship, community outreach, Christian education, worship, technology, and strategic planning all have important places within a healthy fellowship. Yet none of these can replace the presence, wisdom, and direction of God.

KUFA is determined to be a movement of prayer before becoming an organization of programs.

This conviction is taking shape through the development of the Prayer, Intercession & Spiritual Formation Network. Its purpose is to cultivate a strong prayer culture throughout every level of KUFA—from the National fellowship to every State, Territory, District, Jurisdiction, and participating local church.

Our hope is for every State Overseer to be supported by a State Prayer Director and a committed team of intercessors. District and Jurisdictional Overseers should likewise have prayer teams covering their leaders, pastors, congregations, communities, and ministry assignments.

Local churches will always remain free to establish prayer gatherings and prayer lines under the direction of their pastors. KUFA’s national prayer ministry will strengthen those expressions, not interfere with them.

That distinction is important.

A National prayer gathering does not automatically cancel a State prayer line. A State prayer initiative does not eliminate the need for District prayer. District prayer does not replace the altar and prayer ministry of a local church.

Each level has a meaningful assignment.

National convenes.

States coordinate.

Districts mobilize.

Local churches shepherd.

Every level prays.

States and Districts may choose the days, times, frequency, and approved platforms that serve their people most effectively. Some teams may gather weekly. Others may pray several mornings or evenings each week. Some may establish seasonal prayer watches, while others may respond to specific needs as they arise.

When KUFA hosts a National prayer line, leaders, churches, intercessors, and friends throughout the fellowship will be invited to participate. The invitation creates unity without controlling the prayer schedules already operating within individual fields.

The developing prayer network will also support several important expressions, including:

  • The Upper Room Prayer Movement

  • The Watchmen Prayer Network

  • Prayer Shield Teams

  • The Upper Room Leadership Prayer Call

  • Schools of Prayer

  • Seasons of fasting and consecration

  • The Revive the Altar Initiative

  • The Wells of Revival Initiative

These expressions will help develop prayer leaders, strengthen local ministries, provide spiritual covering for pastors and families, support major KUFA gatherings, and mobilize intercession during disasters, crises, missions, and community needs.

Prayer ministry must also be responsible ministry.

KUFA prayer teams will be trained to protect confidentiality, honor pastoral authority, use prayer-line technology safely, respond appropriately to emergencies, and distinguish spiritual support from counseling, medical care, legal advice, or crisis intervention.

Intercessors will be encouraged to pray with faith while remaining humble, scriptural, compassionate, and accountable. Prayer should never become a platform for gossip, accusation, manipulation, self-promotion, or unauthorized disclosure.

As KUFA grows, we want prayer to grow with us.

We want prayer surrounding our pastors.

Prayer strengthening our churches.

Prayer covering our communities.

Prayer guiding our decisions.

Prayer preparing the way for every ministry assignment.

We are building systems, but we are depending upon God.

We are developing leaders, but we are following Christ.

We are planning for the future, but we are seeking the Holy Spirit’s direction.

The watchmen are taking their places.

The altars are being strengthened.

The fellowship is praying.

Intercede. Believe. Impact.
